Fruit Fly 03:59
My well-laid plan cover it up everyone knows too much They’ve never seen anything other than what they don’t want Don’t contain don’t paralyze or settle down Better afraid to be still States in a cup place in your mind this is how I waste my time I hadn’t seen anything other than what I can’t have Don’t complain don’t ask for lies And we could explain something here us two But there’s something else here that we should do Where was I going just now? This takes too long I’m here for more than just to figure this out But now we can’t always think of you There’s something else here that we should do What was I saying just now? This takes too long I’m here for more than just to figure this out

Saturday 02:58
Saturday begins again at odd with afternoon Time is wasted in this basement You can steal an instance of acquaintance with a smile But it never happens to you Saturday begins again at odds with the ones you like Time is wasted in displacement Pretty soon two years are four and they all look the same Not unlike these endless skies of grey Hey look another reason to live! Take it down pass it around
3.
sit down and discuss all your needs and how best to accomplish your goals again I'm going to make sure that your transaction goes smooth thank you for taking the time to listen to this broadcast if you did not catch everything don't worry this message will repeat
4.
I Guess Not 03:11
Let’s sit here alone and let’s stay here a while We’re searching with purpose and we’re looking in style At our hands full of holes these bridges divide How can this be what all our gods had in mind? So break don’t take this easy Why make time so efficiently wasted? Our families demand diving into the sand We might know what to sing but then break up the band and I’m not so nice to forgive such a slight And still recognize what complicity feels like but Wait what were you saying? All these things are not focusing my needs Hey don’t be so awful We were made to be drained by apostles It would get frustrating but for imitating it’s fine You remind me of some kind of mind I knew once I guess not
5.
Bastards 02:37
And I know you’re going away cause it’s all you ever say Which is not to mean you lie it’s just something you imply In the meanwhile I’ll stay numb as you reach out for your gun You can arm yourself with hate and eventually blow me away And this too can pass like you But I see I see what you mean And I’ve been everyone you’ve been And I know something you don’t This is the best I will ever do Now to pass it down the line it’s the people’s how and why Is this why you replicate, make the little bastards pay? And this too can pass like you But I see I see what I am And I live by the common plan Like a choice you’re given This is the best I will ever do

about

Old Haunts is an EP series concept and play on words about some songs that I started writing, wrote or started recording a long time ago in different places and never finished. They swim around in various hard drives, resurfacing now and again and making nuisance of themselves until I can finally say that they're "done enough."

Volume 1 contains 3 unreleased songs, 2 of which ("Fruit Fly," "Saturday") are very very old and one of which ("I Guess Not") is only very old, plus one unreleased instrumental ("Talking House"). I released "Bastards" on my second album as the Graze, but I didn't like the mix, this one is better.
